Bear Creek Mountain - UltraTrax
UltraTrax at Bear Creek Mountain in Macungie, PA is a single-day endurance walk on April 3, 2027. Participants choose how far to go and have ten hours to complete their chosen distance.
Distances are organized as loops on a 7 mile circuit with 1,203 feet of elevation gain per loop. Options and typical features include:
- 7 miles one loop with optional added weight
- 14 miles two loops with optional added weight
- 21 miles three loops with optional added weight and Grey Wolf medal eligibility
- 28 miles four loops with optional added weight and Grey Wolf medal eligibility
Walkers, hikers, and ruckers may go unweighted or carry 10, 20, or 35 pounds in a vest or backpack. The route begins on wooded single-track, climbs into shaded forest, and moves through mossy hardwoods, rocky ridgelines, and open mountain corridors with valley and ski slope views before descending back to the trailhead.
Course management includes professional timing, well-marked trails, aid stations approximately every 2.5 to 3 miles with water, electrolytes, snacks and toilets, and event photographers. Each entry receives a commemorative patch and finisher shirt; higher levels include a Grey Wolf medal and bonus swag for rucks.
