The Hardmoors 15 takes place on Saturday 3 January 2026. It is a circular trail event starting and finishing at Fylingdales Village Hall, Robin Hood's Bay (Whitby). Route, checkpoints and rules
The route uses local trails including sections of the Cinder Track and Cleveland Way and is described as circular around Robin Hood's Bay. Key checkpoints are: Ravenscar Station Road (about 4.5 miles), Hayburn Wyke (about 8 miles), and Ravenscar Station Road again (about 12.5 miles), with the finish back at Fylingdales Village Hall (about 17.5 miles). Checkpoints provide water, food and coke. There is an overall time limit of 8 hours and runners must log in at each checkpoint. Mandatory kit must be carried for the duration of the event, including a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat and gloves, minimum 500 ml drink, whistle, map and route description, survival bag, foil blanket, mobile phone and a cup for drinks.
