The Hardmoors 15 is a circular trail event starting and finishing at Fylingdales Village Hall, Robin Hood's Bay, Whitby. The route is approximately 17.5 miles (about 18 miles) with around 1,700 ft / 518 m of ascent. The event has an 8-hour time limit to complete the route. Entry is limited to 150 participants; the minimum age is 18. Entry fees are listed as £45 (attached) and £47 (unattached). Dogs are not allowed. ARC permit number 26/0004 is shown.

Route, checkpoints and rules

The course follows sections of the Cinder Track and the Cleveland Way and was updated with a new route from 2025. The route description shows four checkpoint locations and a finish: Fylingdales Village Hall (start/finish), Station Road Ravenscar (CP1 at 4.5 miles and CP3 at 12.5 miles), and Hayburn Wyke (CP2 at 8 miles). Each checkpoint provides water, food and coke. Runners must log in at every checkpoint and may be withdrawn if marshals or medics judge them unfit to continue. Mandatory kit must be carried for the duration of the event and includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, hat and gloves, a minimum of 500 ml drink, whistle, map and route description, survival bag or foil blanket, mobile phone and a cup for aid stations. On finishing, participants receive a medal and a Hardmoors tech T-shirt. Cancellation and transfer rules and other event terms are published by the organiser. Take on the rugged North York Moors at Hardmoors 26.2 Goathland, a scenic but demanding 27.5 mile trail marathon. Expect big climbs, unmarked routes requiring map reading, and coastal views in a friendly series atmosphere.
