The Hardmoors 15 takes place on Saturday 3 January 2026 and is based at Fylingdales Village Hall, Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby. The route is a circular trail of approximately 17.5 miles with about 1,700 ft (518 m) of ascent. Participants have 8 hours to complete the course. Entry is limited to 150 places and the event is shown as full. Minimum age is 18. Entry fees are listed as £45 (attached) and £47 (unattached). Dogs are not allowed. An ARC permit number is shown and £1 from each entry is donated to the Cleveland Way National Trail. Finishers receive a medal and a Hardmoors technical T-shirt.

Route and checkpoints

The route starts and finishes at Fylingdales Village Hall and follows local trails including the Cinder Track and the Cleveland Way. Checkpoints are located as follows: Station Road, Ravenscar (about 4.5 miles); Hayburn Wyke (about 8 miles); Station Road, Ravenscar again (about 12.5 miles); finish at Fylingdales Village Hall (about 17.5 miles). Aid stations at the checkpoints provide water, food and coke. Route description, map and a GPX file are provided by the organiser.

Rules and equipment

Participants must check in with marshals at each checkpoint and notify a marshal if they retire. Marshals, medics or race directors may withdraw anyone judged unfit to continue. The organiser lists mandatory kit including hat and gloves, waterproof jacket with taped seams, a minimum of 500 ml water or sports drink, whistle, map and route description, survival bag, foil blanket, mobile phone, a cup for drinks and attachments for the race bib.
