The Goat is a short trail sprint held on 20 February 2026 at Castle Hill in West End, Queensland (8 Wilson Street, postcode 4810). Entry for adults is listed at $50, with a late entry fee of $60 from 15 February. The total prize pool is $1,600, with placed prizes for both men and women for first to fifth positions. The event has limited places and there is no on-day registration.
Course, entry requirements and rules
The course is 1.68 km long with 232 m of elevation gain. Sign-in and race briefing are at Queens Garden (Paxton Street entrance). The course starts at the corner of Castle Hill Road and Gregory Street, follows a short road section to the Cudtheringa Trail head, continues to the Goat Track intersection and up the stairs, then meets the top of Castle Hill Road before finishing at the start of the carpark. Recommended finish times are under 17 minutes for men and under 20 minutes for women; runners are asked to provide evidence of a recorded time with their entry. Key rules include visible bibs, staying on the marked track, no headphones, and giving assistance to injured competitors. Refund and transfer policies specify timeframes and fees: refund requests at least 14 days before the event subject to a $10 transaction fee, and registration transfers at least 7 days before the event subject to a $5 administration fee.
