Cape Pallarenda Trail Run
The Cape Pallarenda Trail Run is a multi-distance trail running event held at Cape Pallarenda with Race HQ at Freemason’s Park. The courses pass Mt Marlow summit, Smedleys Ridge, the Graveyard Circuit and the single track known as Under the Radar. Runners follow coastal and inland trails with views over Cleveland Bay, Magnetic Island and the Coral Sea. Terrain includes technical single track, wider fire trails, short and longer steep climbs, loose rocky ground and some flat sections. Given the mostly dry and rocky surfaces, good trail shoes are recommended.
Distances offered
- 5 km Gunners Salute finishing on the beach
- 12 km Brolga Dreaming via Mt Marlow and Freshwater Trail
- 21 km Heartbreak Half Marathon including Under The Radar and Forts Loop
- 42 km Mt Marlow Marathon with multiple trail loops and bag drop available
Entry includes a fully marked, marshalled course, first aid support, on-course photography, professional electronic timing with a chip bib to keep, aid stations and post-race hydration and fruit. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and drinking water, and parking is available at Walter Nesbit Park and Freemasons Park. Minimum ages apply for short and longer distances and mandatory gear is required for the 12 km, 21 km and 42 km races, including compression bandages, a waterproof phone, whistle, space blanket and sufficient water and nutrition.
