Cape Pallarenda Trail Run
The Cape Pallarenda Trail Run is held at Cape Pallarenda with Race HQ at Freemason’s Park, approximately a 15 minute drive from Townsville CBD. The event offers marked and marshalled trail courses that pass Mt Marlow, Smedleys Ridge, the Graveyard Circuit, the Forts loop and the single track known as Under the Radar. Runners will encounter technical single track, wider fire trails, steep climbs, loose rocky ground and some flat sections, with views across Cleveland Bay, Magnetic Island and the Coral Sea.
Distances offered:
- 5 km, Gunners Salute, beach start and return via Shelly Beach
- 12 km, Brolga Dreaming, includes Mt Marlow ascent and Freshwater Trail
- 21 km, Heartbreak Half, includes Mt Marlow, Under The Radar and Forts loop
- 42 km, Mt Marlow Marathon, multiple loops with aid stations and a bag drop
Entry fees vary by distance and include a fully marked course, first aid support, on-course photography, electronic timing with a chip bib, on-course hydration and snacks (no cups provided), post-race hydration and fruit, and post-race massage subject to availability. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, drinking water and a playground.
Mandatory gear for the 12 km, 21 km and 42 km races must be carried for the duration and includes 2 compression bandages, a fully charged waterproof phone, a whistle, a space blanket and sufficient water and nutrition.
