Event overview
Elliot's Revenge Trail Run takes place at the Alligator Creek day-use area in Bowling Green Bay National Park, Mount Elliot, Queensland. The event is part of the Outer Limits Trail Run Series and is scheduled for 12 April 2026. The area features rugged mountains, coastal plains and mangrove forests, with Mount Elliot prominent in the park. Alligator Creek is about 30 km from the city of Townsville.
Courses
The event offers three marked trail distances:
- 6 km: short course with creek crossings, an out-and-back hill section and fast downhills.
- 12 km: intermediate course with the same start, additional out-and-back sections, creek crossings and stairs.
- 21 km: long course requiring two laps of much of the route, with varied terrain and creek crossings.
Trails follow designated walking tracks and powerline access, with undulating terrain, rocks and gravel in places. Several creek crossings will get feet wet; the trails are not overgrown and are described as not highly technical.
Entry, inclusions and requirements
Registration opens 1 December 2025 and closes 11 April 2026 or when sold out. Entry fees vary by distance and booking period; examples given:
- 6 km: Early Bird $40 | General $45 | Late $55
- 12 km: Early Bird $50 | General $55 | Late $65
- 21 km: Early Bird $60 | General $65 | Late $75
- Juniors: General $22 | Late $29
Entry includes a marked and marshalled course, first aid support, professional timing and photography, on-course hydration (bring your own bottle), a race bib with timing chip to keep, post-race recovery and fruit, and available food and coffee services. Minimum ages: 8 years for short distance, 12 years for longer distances.
Rules and safety
Mandatory gear for the 12 km and 21 km events includes two compression bandages, a fully charged waterproof phone, a whistle, a space blanket and sufficient water and nutrition. Course marshals and a safety vehicle are present. Participants must follow the marked route, keep bibs visible for timing, and report to event officials if they do not finish. Series points are awarded per race; the winner receives 100 points and other runners receive points relative to the winner. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
