The Two Bays Trail Run

The Two Bays Trail Run takes place on Saturday 23 May 2026 on Magnetic Island, Queensland. Race HQ is at the Magnetic Island State School sports oval in Nelly Bay and the courses finish at the Arcadia Village Hotel in Arcadia. The routes are technical single track with climbs, steps and descents, coastal views over Horseshoe Bay, and some sections that run along beaches on the longest course. The event notes local wildlife on the trails, including residential koalas.

Race details and services

Entry options include early, general and late fees for each distance; junior entries are offered for short and medium distances. Minimum ages are 8 years for short distances and 11 years for longer distances. Each entry includes a marked and marshalled course, first aid support, on-course photography, professional electronic timing with a timing chip (kept by the competitor), on-course hydration and snacks (no cups provided), post-race hydration and fruit, bag transfer to the finish line, and eligibility for series points and prizes. SeaLink is the travel sponsor and registered participants receive a 20% discount on return ferry tickets for travel between 22 and 24 May; registration must be completed by 21 May to qualify.

Mandatory gear for the 12 km and 21 km events includes two compression bandages, a fully charged phone, a whistle, an emergency blanket, and sufficient hydration and nutrition. 21 km competitors must also carry a head torch. There is a course cut-off at Horseshoe Bay (around 13 km) where runners not passed that checkpoint may be short coursed. Registration opens 1 December 2025 and closes 22 May 2026 or when sold out.
