The 50th Bullock Smithy Hike / Ultra 56
The Bullock Smithy Hike is a 24 hour hike or ultra run of 56 miles through the Peak District, held on the first full weekend in September. The 2026 event is the 50th edition and follows a circular route starting and finishing in Hazel Grove.
Organised by 3rd Hazel Grove Scout Group, the course uses public footpaths, bridleways and roads and is completely unmarked. Participants are expected to navigate the route, including during hours of darkness, and it is recommended to recce any sections that will be visited at night.

Checkpoints provide refreshments along the route.
