The Bishop's Stortford Mitre 10k, 5k & 1K : Jobbers Wood, Much Hadham

The event is organised by The Bishop's Stortford High School and sponsored by Nockolds Solicitors. It is a community fundraising road race that supports the Mitre Fund, a registered charity raising money for new school community sports facilities.

Races start and finish at Jobbers Wood sports ground and pavilion and follow a professionally measured circuit through country lanes to Much Hadham and back. The courses are chip timed and run on traffic-free roads through East Hertfordshire villages.

Distances:

  • 10 km - professionally measured road circuit.
  • 5 km - professionally measured road circuit.
  • 1 km - a short fun race at Jobbers Wood for younger runners.

Participants receive a free finisher T-shirt with a new design each year or may choose to have a tree planted in their name. Organised warm-up, refreshments and free parking are provided. Trophies are awarded to the top three women and men, first over 40, 50 and 60 in each gender category, and the best running club team for 5k and 10k based on the fastest two women and two men from the same club.

Race for Life Brentwood at Weald Country Park on 16 May 2026 offers 3k, 5k and a double lap 10k across grass and woodland trails. The event is chip timed and carries a minimum fundraising target of £50.

Trail races over 10 and 5 miles at Cammas Hall Farm on 17 May 2026, using farm tracks and woodland trails. Marshals, water stations, parking and finish-line facilities are provided; transfers allowed before the deadline.

Experience an annual five mile off road run through the scenic Little Haven Nature Reserve. This trail race features woodland paths and spring meadows while raising funds for local hospice care.

A 5 km obstacle course at Stanborough Park on 17 May 2026 featuring mud, climbs and slides, run in staggered waves. Participants must be 13 or older and a minimum fundraising target applies.
