The Bishop's Stortford Mitre 10k, 5k & 1K

The Bishop's Stortford Mitre is a community road race organised by The Bishop's Stortford High School on 5 July 2026 at Jobbers Wood, Great Hadham Road, Much Hadham, Herts SG10 6FB. The event supports The Mitre Fund, a registered charity raising money for new school community sports facilities.

Distances offered include:

  • 1K fun race for younger runners

The 10K and 5K courses are professionally measured circuits on traffic free country lanes from Jobbers Wood to Much Hadham and back. Races are chip timed. All finishers receive a specially designed finisher's T-shirt or may choose a tree planted in their name. An organised warm up, refreshments and free parking are provided.

Awards include trophies for the top three women and men, age-category first places for 40, 50 and 60 plus in both genders, and best running club team prizes for the 5K and 10K. The 1K Mitre Race takes place at Jobbers Wood after the main races, is free to enter on the day for under 11s, and offers medals for all participants plus certificates for winners.

Race packs are available for collection the day before between 9:00 and 12:00 at Jobbers Wood or from 8:00 on the event day. Volunteers are invited to assist as marshalls or on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
