Event Overview

The Big 50 Trail Run takes place at F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain, Georgia. It is the 10th year of the event and features a point-to-point course on the Pine Mountain Trail. The race offers two distances: a 50K and a 25K.

Course Details

The course is a point-to-point route covering the entire Pine Mountain Trail within the state park. It starts at the radio tower in Warm Springs and finishes at the Liberty Bell Pool. The route consists of single-track trail with elevation changes.

  • 50K: Features five aid stations located at miles 5, 11, 16, 23, and 29.
  • 25K: Features two aid stations located at miles 5 and 11.

Crew access is permitted at all aid stations except for the one at mile 5. All runners are required to carry some form of hydration.

Logistics and Schedule

A shuttle bus service is available for purchase, transporting runners from the finish line (Liberty Bell Pool) to the start line (Radio Tower Trailhead). Without a bus pass, runners must arrange their own transportation. There is a 6:30 PM finish cutoff time for all distances.

Additional Information

A post-race picnic with a free hotdog cookout is provided. Participants who register by April 15 receive a unique hat, and all finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each race; the first overall finisher in each race wins a free entry to a 2027 Bootlegger Trail race.
