Event Overview

The Holiday Hootie-Hoo is a trail running event. It is the fourth and final race in the Southern Singletrack Trail Series. It will take place on Sunday, December 13, 2026, at F.D.R. State Park on Pine Mountain in Georgia.

Distances

The event offers two distances: a Half Marathon and a 10K.

Course Details

The courses are on rocky, root-filled singletrack trails covered in leaves. The Half Marathon route travels through Pine Mountain, passing rock outcroppings, forests, springs, and creek crossings. The 10K course uses the Mountain Creek Nature Trail Loop and part of the Longleaf Loop. The Half Marathon has approximately 2.5 aid stations, while the 10K has 1 aid station.

Registration and Cost

Registration closes the Wednesday before the event. There is no race-day registration. The initial cost is $70 for the 10K and $85 for the Half Marathon. After November 21st, prices increase to $85 for the 10K and $100 for the Half Marathon.

Participant Perks

Each runner receives a race hoodie and a finisher award upon completing the course. Hoodie size is not guaranteed for registrations after November 25th.

Awards and Charity

Overall awards are given for the top male and female finishers. A portion of the race proceeds benefits F.D.R. State Park, the Pine Mountain Trail Association, and the Humane Society of Harris County. The event also collects dog and cat food donations for the Humane Society.

Logistics

A $10 parking fee per vehicle is required at the state park; this is not included with registration. Parking is limited, and carpooling is encouraged.
