Holiday Hootie-Hoo Half Marathon / 10K

The Southern Singletrack Trail Series presents the 9th Annual Holiday Hootie-Hoo Trail Race at F.D.R. State Park in Pine Mountain, Georgia, on December 13, 2026. The event offers two trail distances and includes event apparel and finisher awards.

Distances

  • Half Marathon
  • 10K

The Half Marathon route follows long sections of Pine Mountain trail, with rock outcroppings, hardwood and longleaf pine forests, springs, creek crossings, and notable rock formations. The 10K follows the Mountain Creek Nature Trail Loop and part of the Longleaf Loop. Both courses use rocky, root-filled singletrack often covered in leaves; runners should watch their step.

Aid stations are provided along the routes: one for the 10K and 2.5 for the Half Marathon. Entry fees are listed as $70 for the 10K and $85 for the Half Marathon, increasing to $85 and $100 respectively after November 21. Registration is required in advance; there is no race-day registration. No transfers, refunds, or deferments are allowed.

Each registered participant receives a race hoodie and a finisher award; hoodie size is not guaranteed for registrations after November 25. A portion of event proceeds will benefit the park, the Pine Mountain Trail Association, and the Humane Society of Harris County. Organizers will collect canned and bagged dog and cat food for the Humane Society. Parking at the state park requires a $10 per vehicle fee and is limited.
