Holiday Hootie Hoo - December 13, 2026

The Holiday Hootie Hoo Trail Race is the ninth annual running of this Southern Singletrack event at F.D.R. State Park in Pine Mountain, Georgia. The event offers two distances:

  • Half Marathon
  • 10K

The half marathon route includes rock outcroppings, hardwood and longleaf pine forests, rock formations, springs, and creek crossings. The 10K follows the Mountain Creek Nature Trail Loop and part of the Longleaf Loop. Both courses use rocky, root-filled singletrack covered in leaves; participants should watch their step.

Aid stations are provided: 1 for the 10K and 2.5 for the half marathon. Awards are given to overall male and female finishers. Each registered runner receives a race hoodie and a finisher award; hoodie size is not guaranteed for registrations after November 25. No transfers, refunds, or deferments are allowed. There is no race-day registration.

Parking at Georgia State Parks requires a $10.00 fee per vehicle and is not included with race registration; self-pay boxes and annual park passes are available at park headquarters. Parking is limited. A portion of the race proceeds benefits the park, the Pine Mountain Trail Association, and the Humane Society of Harris County. Food donations of canned or bagged dog and cat food are being collected for the Humane Society; the 2022 collection exceeded 340 pounds.
