Muddy Crudd's Ultra Trail Party - May 9, 2026
Muddy Crudd's Ultra Trail Party is a trail running event held at Shawmut Airport in Valley, AL, along the banks of the Chattahoochee River. The event is in its third year and includes timed and non-timed formats on a looped trail.
Distances and formats include:
- 12 hour timed event
- 6 hour timed event
- 5K trail run (3.1 miles) along the river
- Ice Cream Mile with timed stops
The 12 hour and 6 hour events are supported by a full aid station and volunteers who assist participants. A 12 hour course record of 58 miles was set in 2024; a $100 cash prize is offered to the athlete who sets a new 12 hour course record. The event is designated a no DNF event; participants who complete one 5K loop before sundown receive a recorded finish and a unique finisher award. Overall male and female winners receive unique awards, which may include a loaf of Mama Crudd's homemade bread. The Ice Cream Mile requires participants to consume four frozen treats at quarter mile intervals, beginning with a choice of three icy options.
