Muddy Crudd's Ultra Trail Party - Valley, AL

Muddy Crudd's Ultra Trail Party is a small trail running event held along the banks of the Chattahoochee River near Shawmut Airport in Valley, Alabama. The event is in its third year and offers multiple formats, including timed endurance events and shorter runs. A full aid station and volunteers experienced in ultrarunning support the timed events.

Timed and running options include:

  • 12 hour timed event
  • 6 hour timed event
  • 5K trail course along the river
  • Ice Cream Mile with four frozen treats at quarter mile stops

The 5K follows a 3.1 mile course along the river. The Ice Cream Mile requires participants to consume one of three icy options at the start and then one treat at each quarter mile aid point. The event operates as a no DNF event; completing one 5K loop before sundown yields a recorded finish. Each finisher receives a unique finisher award.

A 12 hour course record of 58 miles was set in 2024. A $100 cash prize is offered for a new 12 hour course record. Overall male and female winners receive unique awards, which include a loaf of Mama Crudd's homemade bread; the bread is not gluten free. The deadline to be guaranteed a shirt is May 1, 2025. Registration closes May 8. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
