Muddy Crudd's Ultra Trail Party

Muddy Crudd's Ultra Trail Party takes place in Valley, AL near Shawmut Airport along the banks of the Chattahoochee River. The event is in its third year and offers multiple timed and non timed options on a looped trail course beside the river. Registration closes May 8.

Event options include:

  • 12 hour timed event
  • 6 hour timed event
  • 5K trail run along the river
  • Ice Cream Mile with four frosty treats

Timed events are supported by a full aid station and volunteers with ultra experience. The 12 hour and 6 hour formats provide counted laps on the looped course and recorded results for finishers. The Ice Cream Mile requires consuming an icy treat at each quarter mile and finishing the mile distance.

The event is described as a no DNF event: completing one 5K loop before sundown yields a recorded finish. A new 12 hour course record of 58 miles was set in 2024 and a $100 cash prize is offered for any new 12 hour course record. Overall male and female winners receive unique awards, which include a loaf of Mama Crudd's homemade bread. Bread is not gluten free. Each finisher receives a unique finisher award.
