The Terror of Tammany is a trail running event taking place at Worthington State Park in Columbia, New Jersey.

Distances and Course

The event offers two race distances:

  • 30K (approximately 18.6 miles)
  • 50K+ (approximately 33.5+ miles)

Both races are run on a single 6.7-mile loop with roughly 1,750 feet of vertical ascent per loop. The 30K race consists of three loops, while the 50K+ consists of five loops.

Logistics and Schedule

The race starts and finishes in the campground area of Worthington State Forest. Check-in for participants opens at 5:15 AM. Both the 30K and 50K+ races start together at 6:00 AM.

Time Limits and Finisher Awards

There is a 9-hour time limit for the 30K race; finishers must complete the course by 3:00 PM to be official. The 50K+ race has a 12-hour time limit, requiring a finish by 6:00 PM to be official. There is a time cutoff for the final loop of the 50K+ at 4:00 PM. All official finishers in both distances receive a finisher's award.

Trail runs nearby

Trail event at Mahlon Dickerson Reservation on March 1, 2026 offering 5 mile and 10 mile routes over rugged woodland trails. Participants receive a long sleeved shirt, a medal, and donuts; hikers are welcome.

A roughly 40-mile looped trail event in the Delaware Water Gap featuring 10 climbs and over 10,000 ft of ascent. The route starts and finishes at the Kittatinny Parking Lot Pavilion and repeats a Mt. Tammany ascent and descent ten times.

A give or take five mile loop through Jacobsburg State Park with singletrack and gravel sections. Options include a 5 mile event or three hour and six hour timed efforts, and the event follows a zero carbon approach.

Green Traill 5K on May 3, 2026 in Easton, PA features a 5K run, a 2 mile walk and a free kids fun run for ages 1 to 10. The volunteer organized event donates all proceeds to Friends of Historic Easton Cemetery.
