Event Details

The Tempting at Tempsey running event takes place at Temple Newsam House in Leeds. The grounds offer many walking and running trails, along with a farm, cafe, shop, and a historic house.

The Course

The course is a mixture of open country, gardens, and woodland. The surface includes path, grass, and trail, and the route is described as undulating. Participants can download GPX files for navigation, as the route is mainly off-road and not every junction will have a marshal. There is a 6.5-hour overall time limit.

Facilities and Support

Drinks and feed stations are provided approximately every three miles, but runners are asked to bring their own reusable cup or bottle. The course will be well-signposted, and marshals will offer encouragement. Toilets are available near the start, finish, and registration area. After finishing, participants receive a bespoke medal and refreshments.

Important Information

Headphones that block out ambient sound (large over-ear headphones) are banned for safety; bone-conducting or "one in, one out" in-ear pieces are permitted. Parking is available, but Leeds City Council charges a fee, so participants should check details beforehand. The event is licenced by the Trail Running Association. A 5 miles fell race around Midgley Moor with path and heather moorland route choices and partial route marking. The event requires navigation, FRA mandatory kit and has limited parking with entry permitted up to 100 competitors.

A Peak District fell meeting in Mirfield on 15 February 2026 with junior championship races and a senior race over about 5 km with 210 m climb. Pre-entry and on-the-day entry are offered, and the event holds FRA permit insurance.
