Tame the Tower Trail Challenge

The event takes place on the hiking trails around Clarence Schock Memorial Park and within the village area of Mt. Gretna. The course runs on marked trailways that reflect the local tradition of artistry and natural scenery.

There are two trail distances:

  • 10 mile course about 1500 feet elevation gain
  • 5 mile course about 850 feet elevation gain

Each course will be marked with a distinct color of ground flags; the 10 mile route uses pink flags and the 5 mile route uses yellow flags. Both distances start and finish at the Clarence Schock Memorial Park Education Center at 3283 Pinch Road, Lebanon PA 17042.

Race registration and number pick up occur at Governor Dick Park on race day between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. Parking is available at Governor Dick Park on a first come first serve basis; when that lot is full participants will be redirected to a Mount Gretna lot with a van service. Car pooling is suggested in the event of limited parking.

One hundred percent of proceeds are returned to the park for trail maintenance, park safety measures, and improvements to the education center; past projects include a new water fountain and a community mud kitchen. Race timing and finish results are provided by Pretzel City Sports. The event proceeds in rain or shine and there are no refunds. Pets are not permitted to race.
