Naked Nick

Naked Nick is a winter trail event held at Blue Marsh Lake. The race is described as back to the basics with low entry fees and a community focus. The field uses old-fashioned manual bib timing and runners must keep their bib visible on the front.

The course runs on the south side of the lake and is a lollipop style route: 5.5 miles out, a 4.5-mile loop, and 5.5 miles back. The terrain includes a mix of single track and gravel roads with rolling hills and winter trail conditions. Average start temperature is around 30°F and the event runs in rain, shine, or snow unless snow depth is extreme. Aid stations are placed every 3 to 4 miles.

Location and facilities are centered at the Hillside Pavilion, Day Use Area, Blue Marsh Lake in Leesport, Pennsylvania. Post-race food is provided by a resident chef and pastry chef, and every finisher receives a traditional German-style memento.

Distances and basic details:

  • 25 KM - Very hiker friendly; a single 15.5-mile lollipop loop.
  • 50 KM - Two laps of the 25K course with drop-bag access at mile 16.
