Red Barn Challenge

The Red Barn Challenge is the 7th annual timed running event held October 2 to 3, 2026 at Marzella Farm in Lykens, PA. The event offers 24 hour, 12 hour and 6 hour race options on a measured loop course.

Runners complete laps of a 1 mile loop that runs around ponds and fields. The surface is mostly grass with mulch and stone, and the elevation is about 70 feet per lap. The event uses chip timing.

An on course aid station provides a range of food and hydration items including potatoes, rice, broth and TAILWIND Hydration along with other supplies typically found at ultrarunning events. Camping is available for the full weekend, with campsites and parking located trackside for easy access.

An award ceremony is held at the conclusion of the event; the ceremony includes additional food and distribution of a sweatshirt or blanket. Awards are given to top male and female finishers in each time bracket and to other participants as noted. The event supports local organizations including the Wiconisco Fire Company and Our Valley area athletics programs. Refunds are available at 50 percent through July 1, 2026.
