Knight Ruck at Gov. Dick

Knight Ruck is an organized ruck march held on Friday, September 25, 2026 at the Gov. Dick Environmental Center in Mt. Gretna, PA. The event offers two courses: an 8 mile option and a 4 mile option.

Participants may march with or without a ruck. Weight requirements for ruck participants are: adults carry 35 lbs (without water weight) and juniors carry 20% of their body weight (without water). Only weighted ruck marchers are eligible for prizes; awards are given to the top two finishers in the 8 mile, the 4 mile, and the junior division.

Entry fees are listed by age category: adult (16 and older) and junior (up to 15). The event lists needed items for participants as a ruck, a headlamp, and a water source. Proceeds from the event are divided between the Knights of the Kingdom and Gov. Dick.

Trail runs nearby

A trail and road mix half marathon and an all trail 5K centered at Sleepy Hollow Athletic Club. Both races run largely on the Horse Shoe Trail and support Berks County Special Olympics.

Experience a timed ultra marathon on technical single track trails in the Blue Mountains. Run as many 3.5 mile loops as possible through the shaded landscapes of the Bashore Scout Reservation.

A night trail relay in Paradise, PA where teams pass a baton and collect glow rings to count loops. Runners aim to complete as many 1 mile loops as possible in a 3 hour 24 minute timed period; headlamps recommended.

Experience a scenic 5 mile trail run through Lancaster County Central Park featuring grass paths and water crossings. Compete for age group awards and enjoy a post race prize raffle in a beautiful natural setting.
