Trail Races at Miller Plant Farm
The Farm Fresh 10K is a trail race held at Miller Plant Farm, a working Century Farm in York, Pennsylvania. This event forms part of the Summer Bash and supports the Diane Miller Gift of Hope Fund. The course is characterized as rugged and all-terrain, featuring diverse surfaces such as paved roads, stone paths, grassy farm areas, and wooded trails.
The 10K route includes specific technical challenges, such as passing under a low-clearance bridge and crossing a muddy creek twice. Participants encounter views of the Leader Heights region of Southern York County throughout the run. Due to the nature of the terrain, strollers and pets are not permitted on the course. Use of earphones, cell phones, or texting is discouraged during the event.
Available distances include:
- 10K trail race
- 5K trail race
- 0.5 Miles Kids Fun Run
Prizes are awarded to the overall male and female winners as well as top age group finishers in the 5K and 10K events. Participants in these distances also receive a produce sampler from the farm. The Kids Fun Run is open to children aged 9 and under and takes place on a course involving asphalt, dirt farm roads, and crushed stone, passing through production greenhouses and flower fields. Medical support is stationed at the start and finish area for the duration of the morning events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
