Take 5 in the Garden : Garden of the Gods Park, Colorado Springs

Take 5 in the Garden is a group of road and trail races held in Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs on May 2, 2026. The event starts and finishes on Gateway Road off 30th Street and uses roads through the park that will be closed to vehicle traffic.

Courses pass notable rock formations such as the Siamese Twins, Kissing Camels, and Balanced Rock, with views of Pikes Peak. The park course elevations range from about 6,266 feet to 6,540 feet, and total elevation gain varies by course, up to approximately 1,065 feet on the longest course. Aid stations are provided on course: one on the 5K, three on the 5 Mile trail, four on the 5 Mile road, and seven on the Double Take.

Packet pickup is available at a local running store and at the start line on race day. The finish line is at the same location as the start; water and Gatorade will be available there. Parking is planned at Rock Ledge Ranch near Gateway and 30th Street. Note that road construction near the park entrance may affect approach routes; vehicles should approach from the north. Falcon 50 at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs offers trail and road races including a 50 mile ultra. The event is open to DoD ID cardholders and online registration closes April 18.

A community 5K poker ride and run at Bear Creek Regional Park welcoming horses, pack burros, cyclists, runners, hikers, kids, and leashed dogs. Proceeds support the Equestrian Skills Course and prizes are awarded across multiple categories.

Trail races at Greenland Open Space in Larkspur, Colorado offer 4 mile, 8 mile, 25K and 50K distances on dirt double-track trails with aid stations and championship designation for the 50K.

A women focused trail event at Cheyenne Mountain State Park offering distances from 4 miles to 50K across meadows, singletrack, and rocky ridgelines, with cupless aid stations and significant elevation change.
