Take 5 in The Garden

Event Overview

Take 5 in the Garden of the Gods is a running event scheduled for May 2, 2026. It takes place in Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The park roads are closed to traffic for the duration of the races.

Race Distances

Participants can choose from four different race options:

• 5K Road Race
• 5 Mile Road Race
• 5 Mile Trail Race
• Double Take 9.5 Mile Road/Trail Race

Course Details

All courses start and finish on Gateway Road off of 30th Street within the park. Runners on both road and trail courses pass iconic red rock formations such as Siamese Twins, Kissing Camels, and Balanced Rock, with views of Pikes Peak in the background. The Double Take race combines road and trail sections.

Course elevation information is available. The 5K road course has a low point of 6,318 feet and a high point of 6,540 feet. Aid stations are provided on all courses, with one station on the 5K route and up to seven on the Double Take course. The entire event course closes at 9:30 AM. Double Take runners must reach the trail portion by 8:15 AM or be redirected to finish the 5-mile road race.

Logistics

Packet pickup is available on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Colorado Running Company in Colorado Springs. Race day packet pickup and registration are available at the starting line from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM. A photo ID is required to pick up a race bib.

Parking for the event is located at Rock Ledge Ranch at the intersection of Gateway Road and 30th Street. Attendees are advised to approach the park from the north due to road construction.
