Take 5 in the Garden

Take 5 in the Garden is a set of road and trail races held on May 2, 2026 at Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The courses start and finish on Gateway Road off 30th Street and travel through the park on roads closed to traffic.

Runners can choose from the following distances:

• 5K Road Race
• 5 Mile Road Race
• 5 Mile Trail Race
• Double Take 9.5 Mile Road and Trail Race

The routes pass several well known rock formations within the park, including the Siamese Twins, Kissing Camels, and Balanced Rock, with Pikes Peak visible in the background. Closed roads are used for portions of the road courses to separate runners from vehicle traffic.

Course metrics include a lowest point of 6266 feet and a highest point of 6540 feet. Elevation gain ranges from about 325 feet on the 5K to about 1065 feet on the Double Take, with corresponding elevation losses reported. Aid stations are provided on each course: one water stop on the 5K, four on the 5 mile road course, three on the 5 mile trail course, and seven on the Double Take course.

Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Colorado Running Company and race day check in is available at the starting line. Parking is planned at Rock Ledge Ranch with directions routed to the north approach due to nearby road construction. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
