Above the Clouds Ultra takes place in Woodland Park, Colorado on October 3, 2026. The event offers the following distances:

The course for the ultra climbs from Merit Academy up Lovell Gulch to the top of Rampart Range Road, then continues south along Rampart Range Road with sustained views of Pikes Peak. The route proceeds counter clockwise around the singletrack of Rampart Reservoir, connects to the 700.A National Forest trail, and follows quiet National Forest roads north before descending the second half of the Lovell Gulch Loop back to Merit Academy.

Aid stations are placed along the course and are stocked with Tailwind, Muir Energy Gels, sweet and salty snacks, fruit, and soda. Most aid stations will offer warm food options such as bacon, quesadillas, and potatoes. The 50k course lists an elevation gain of 4,137 feet and aid stations at Lovell Gulch, Rainbow, Dam, Rampart Ridge, and a return to Lovell Gulch before the finish.

Packet pickup is available Friday at Colorado GearLab and on the morning of the event at the start area. Registration closes September 30, 2026 and includes a gender specific race shirt, personalized bib and finishers award, well stocked aid stations, and a post race meal. Pacing is prohibited; crewing is allowed for 50k runners at designated crew accessible aid stations. Merit Academy hosts the start and finish and provides parking with attendants.
