The course begins in Woodland Park and ascends Lovell Gulch to the top of Rampart Range Road. Runners proceed south on Rampart Range Road with sustained views of Pikes Peak, then follow a counterclockwise route around the singletrack at Rampart Reservoir. The route connects to the 700.A National Forest trail and continues north on quiet National Forest roads with panoramic mountain views. The final segment descends the second half of the Lovell Gulch Loop and finishes at Woodland Park Middle School where family and friends are positioned near the finish area.
