Pikes Peak Ultra

The Pikes Peak Ultra takes place in Colorado Springs and utilizes the local trail system to feature various natural landmarks. The event provides several distance options across technical terrain:

  • 20 km
  • 30 km
  • 50 km
  • 50 mile

The course starts and finishes at Bear Creek Regional Park. Participants travel up High Drive and through Cheyenne Canon, crossing the Seven Bridges Trail and ascending to Pipeline Trail. Much of the route consists of crushed granite surfaces typical of the region.

The 50 km and 50 mile routes include a summit of Mt. Rosa, which offers views of the surrounding city. For the long distance, elevations range from a low point of 6,170 feet to a high point of 11,893 feet, featuring approximately 11,759 feet of elevation gain. The event operates as a cupless race, meaning runners must carry their own reusable hydration vessels to use at water dispensers located at the start, finish, and aid stations.

All registered participants receive a race shirt, a trucker hat, and a finishers' medal. Parking is available near the pavilions and courts at Bear Creek Regional Park; however, parking along local roads like Argus or 21st is prohibited.
