Event overview

The 18th Annual Be Ovary Aware 5K Run 3K Walk is a community running and walking event held at America the Beautiful Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The event benefits Sue's Gift - Gynecologic Cancer Support and directs fundraising proceeds to programs that assist Coloradans affected by gynecologic cancers.

The course is a scenic, flat out-and-back route along Fountain Creek that follows the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail and begins and ends in America the Beautiful Park in downtown Colorado Springs.

Fundraising supports Sue's Gift programs including a Financial Assistance Program that helps individuals cover essential living expenses during cancer treatment, and a Peer Support Program that trains survivors at least one year post-treatment to mentor newly diagnosed people. A grant from the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance supported development of the Peer Support Program. The event notes that 100 percent of fundraising proceeds go to Sue's Gift programs.
