Event Details
The Cheyenne Mountain Run takes place on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs. It features three trail race distances:
- 25K
- 10K
- 5K
All races start from the Limekiln Trailhead using a staggered start procedure, with chip timing. Participants must wear their assigned, color-coded race bib. Poles and walking sticks are not allowed for safety. The event is a fundraiser for The Friends of Cheyenne Mountain State Park.
Courses
The 25K course, which is a Pikes Peak Ascent qualifier, starts at 6,000 feet and reaches a maximum elevation of approximately 9,450 feet, with about 3,450 feet of total elevation gain and loss. It follows trails including Talon, North Talon, Dixon Trail, and a Mountain Loop. There are several cutoff times and aid stations on course. Registration for the 25K is limited to 400 participants. The 10K course uses the Talon, South Talon, and Sundance trails. The 5K course follows the Talon, Sundance, and Turkey Trot trails.
Logistics
Participants must carry their own hydration. Early packet pickup is available the day before the race at the park's Visitor's Center, and also on race morning. Parking at the state park is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. All finishers receive a medal and a tech shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
