Canya Cañon Trail Race & Hike

The event is scheduled for November 8, 2026, at Starsmore Visitor & Nature Center in North Cheyenne Cañon Park, Colorado Springs (2120 S Cheyenne Canyon Road). It offers two trail courses that run on Columbine Trail and return to Starsmore.

  • 4 miles : chip timed; up Columbine Trail to the Powell parking lot.
  • 2.5 miles : out-and-back to Mid Columbine parking lot; not chip timed.

The 4-mile course follows the original route along Columbine Trail and includes a shuttle run by Adventures Out West to return participants from the Powell parking lot to Starsmore; pets are allowed on the trail if leashed but are not permitted in the Adventures Out West Jeeps. Water will be available at the spur to Gold Camp Road on Upper Columbine Trail (about 2.5 miles into the course) and at the finish line. The event is a cupless race, so participants are asked to bring their own water bottles.

Parking is available in lots near Starsmore, with overflow parking on Mesa Avenue. Restrooms are inside Starsmore Visitor & Nature Center; portable toilets will be at the Powell parking lot finish area.

All proceeds benefit Friends of Cheyenne Cañon, which supports park preservation, improvements, programs, and community involvement.
