Pony Express Trail Run
Woodland Park, United States • 14 Sep 2025
The Pony Express Trail Run is a scenic trail race held at Rampart Reservoir near Woodland Park, Colorado, at elevations between 9,000 and 9,400 feet. Offering two distance options—8.5 miles and 16 miles—the course features rolling single-track dirt trails with rocky sections and exposed roots, including a loop on the north side of the reservoir. The race is intentionally small, limited to 100 participants to protect the trails, and is supported by two water-only aid stations. Runners enjoy beautiful autumn scenery, creeks, and wildlife. The event emphasizes community spirit by awarding all finishers with commemorative awards rather than competitive prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
