71st Annual Pikes Peak Marathon

The Pikes Peak Marathon is an established mountain running event held in Manitou Springs, Colorado. The course begins at City Hall and covers a total distance of 26.2 miles. Participants travel from the starting area to the summit of Pikes Peak before returning back down to the finish.

The route features a significant vertical gain and loss of 7,834 feet. From the start line in the city, the halfway marker at the summit is visible nearly 8,000 feet above the runners. Participants are required to complete the round trip from the start to the summit and back in under 10 hours.

Registration for the general marathon opens in early March with a specific fee structure.
