Summit North Trail Runs

The Summit North Trail Runs is scheduled for August 7 to August 8, 2026 at the Grand Avenue Chalet, Spirit Mountain, in Duluth, Minnesota. The event is organized by Summit North Trail Runs and uses local trail systems in West Duluth.

The event includes multiple separate races and formats:

  • Hill Climb & Descent, held Friday night

  • The Creeks 8-Mile
  • Forest Track Heavy Half Marathon

Courses follow wooded singletrack and mixed trail terrain. Participants will encounter rugged climbs, winding forest singletrack, and other natural trail features. The Forest Track Heavy Half Marathon includes a plunge through Ely’s Tunnel as part of its route.

Races are run from the Spirit Mountain area at the Grand Avenue Chalet in Duluth, MN 55808. The program begins on the Friday evening with the Hill Climb & Descent and continues through Saturday with the 5K, 8 mile, and heavy half marathon races.
