Speyside Windfarm Challenge

The Speyside Windfarm Challenge takes place on 30 August 2026 near Knockando in Moray. The event offers three distances:

  • Trail Half Marathon
  • 10K
  • 1 Mile Kids Run

The event is organised and run by charities Knockando Primary School Parent Council and Knockando Community Multisport and Tennis Club to support local education and sports provision. Registration is based at Margach Hall, Knockando (AB38 7RX); participants who have pre-registered must collect their race numbers there. Runners should allow time to register and walk to the start area near Kirdelbeg Farm, about 2 miles from the hall.

Participants must be over 16 to enter the half marathon or the 10K. The course is exposed to the elements, so clothing should suit the conditions. The children’s 1 mile is a flat out-and-back along an empty tarmac road.

There will be a water station and marshals at the top of the main climb, with additional marshals around the half marathon loop and at the bottom of the final descent before the flat stretch to the finish. After finishing, participants can return to Registration for sandwiches, cakes, teas and coffees and for the prize giving.

Entry fees vary by event; registration closes on 27 August 2026 at 22:00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
