Bloodroot Ultra - Riverside Farm, Pittsfield, Vermont
Bloodroot Ultra is a multi-day trail event held May 5–8, 2027 at Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vermont, and forms part of the Spartan Summer Farm Experience. Founded in 2007, the event follows routes in the foothills of the Vermont Green Mountains and sections of the Green Mountain National Forest, with uneven terrain and steep climbs.
Multiple distances are offered:
- 200 Miler
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 10 Miler
The event emphasizes self-reliance. Pacers are not allowed for any distance. Drop bag access differs by distance: for the 50 Miler at miles 0, 30, and 40; for the 100 Miler and 200 Miler approximately every 10 miles. Drop bags are collected at check-in and transported to designated aid locations. Aid stations are planned along the Riverside Trails and Bloodroot Trail and are expected to provide water, electrolytes, and limited nutrition; participants should carry additional gear, hydration, and nutrition they may need.
Headlamps are mandatory for the 50 Miler, 100 Miler, and 200 Miler, and may be required for participants who remain on course later in the day. Participants must check out with race staff at the finish and return timing chips before leaving. Volunteers support race-week operations including course setup, aid stations, and finish-line duties.
