Bloodroot Ultra
Bloodroot Ultra is scheduled for May 5–8, 2027 at Riverside Farm in Pittsfield, Vermont. It is presented as the original Spartan Trail race and is part of the Spartan Summer Farm Experience week of events.
The race is set in the foothills of the Vermont Green Mountains and uses trails within and near the Green Mountain National Forest. The course features rugged, trail terrain and steep climbs. Aid stations are planned to provide water, electrolytes, and limited nutrition, and participants should arrive prepared with their own gear, nutrition, and hydration. Current aid station planning includes Riverside Trails with three aid stations and Bloodroot Trail with four to five aid stations or checkpoints.
Drop bag access is provided by distance:
- 200 Miler
- 100 Miler
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 10 Miler
Drop bag details: the 50M has drop bag access at miles 0, 30, and 40; the 100M and 200M have drop bag access approximately every 10 miles. Pacers are not allowed for any distance. Headlamps are mandatory for the 50M, 100M, and 200M and may be required for late course participants. Participants must check out at the finish or with official staff and return timing chips before leaving.
Travel note: the nearest airport is Rutland Southern Vermont Regional Airport with an approximate 30 minute drive; Burlington and Boston are additional regional options. Participants arrange their own travel and lodging. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
