Rochester 4th of July 5K Trail Run/Walk

The event is a community trail run and walk on July 4, 2026, with start and finish at River Brook Park, 215 VT Route 100 N, Rochester, VT. Registration is available online with a stated deadline of Friday, July 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET, and in-person registration will be offered on the day of the event from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM. Entry categories include adult runner and adult walker for participants 14 and over with a $20 fee, and a kids run/walk for participants 13 and under with a $5 fee.

The course is a marked single loop of approximately 5 km that uses local trails and roads. From the park participants cross the bridge behind the fire station onto River Brook Drive, turn onto Chantrea Field single track, then continue to the intersection of Chantrea Hill and VCR Connector. The route climbs to VCR Connector, turns right onto Boulder Dash and descends to Creamery Run. It then follows Creamery Run south, crosses Beans Bridge Road, continues on Chantrea Hill trail for a short uphill, returns to the Chantrea Field intersection and backtracks to River Brook Drive before returning to River Brook Park. Adult prizes include gift certificates to area restaurants and a one month gift certificate to PHCC Fitness Center. All kids receive a creemee gift certificate to the Skip Mart.
