Tam Trek

Middlebury, United States • 21 Sep 2025

Event overview

The TAM Trek is a trail race and fun run that raises funds for the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM). The 2025 edition is the 22nd annual event and takes place on September 21, 2025, in Middlebury, Vermont. All distances start and finish at Wright Park. The Trail Around Middlebury was begun in 1989 and now encircles the village of Middlebury, linking several hundred acres of town land, conserved properties, schools, and other local landmarks. Middlebury Area Land Trust reports it spends over $50,000 annually to maintain the trail; race entry fees contribute to those maintenance costs. The finish area includes live music, local raffle prizes, and a post-race buffet.

Courses and route

  • 19-mile - full TAM loop around Middlebury.
  • 10K - single-track through Wright Park and the Otter Creek Gorge.
  • 5K - mix of wide and single-track within Wright Park.
  • 2-mile - family fun run along Otter Creek; dogs welcome.

The 19-mile race travels the entire TAM through the towns of Middlebury, Cornwall, New Haven, and Weybridge. The 10K has about 400 feet of elevation gain and several fairly technical sections. The 5K loops from the southern entrance to Belden Falls and back. The 2-mile fun run is on trail, highlights parts of Wright Park, and offers free entry for youth ages 12 and under.
