Trail Race in Middlebury
The TAM Trek is a trail running event held in Vermont to support the maintenance of the Trail Around Middlebury (TAM). This footpath extends for 19 miles and circles the village of Middlebury, connecting town lands, conserved properties, and local schools. All scheduled events begin and end at Wright Park.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 19 miles
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 mile fun run
The 19 mile course covers the entire length of the TAM, crossing through Middlebury, Cornwall, New Haven, and Weybridge. The route features views of the Green Mountains and the Adirondacks. The 10 km event is held on single-track trails within Wright Park and the Otter Creek Gorge Loop, featuring approximately 400 feet of elevation gain and technical sections.
The 5 km route utilizes a mix of wide and single-track trails within Wright Park, reaching as far as Belden Falls. For those seeking a shorter distance, the 2 mile fun run follows the Otter Creek trail and is open to both runners and walkers. This specific distance allows dogs on a leash and provides free entry for participants aged 12 and under. Registration is available on the day of the event starting 45 minutes before the first departure. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
