Moosalamoo Ultra
Goshen, United States • 1 Aug 2026
Event details
The Moosalamoo Ultra takes place in Goshen, Vermont, with the race starting and ending at the Blueberry Hill Inn. The event offers two distances:
- 14 miles - about 2400 feet of elevation gain
- 36 miles - more than 5000 feet of elevation gain
The race was founded in 2012 and has been organized by a new team since 2022. Entry includes an event shirt, a post-race meal, a finishers award (TBD), and access to free primitive camping near the Outdoor Center. Prizes are awarded to first through third overall male and female finishers in both distances. Refunds are available, less a $25 service fee, if requested by May 31; no refunds after that date.
Course and logistics
Most trails are in the Green Mountain National Forest and include mountain single track to the summit of Mount Moosalamoo with views of Lake Dunmore. The course includes long climbs, occasional black bear sightings, and areas with stinging nettles. Some sections cross private property and are open to the public only on race day.
Dogs are permitted; they must be leashed at the start and for the first few road miles, kept under control thereafter, and owners must clean up after them. Spectators may access much of the course, but runner support is allowed only at designated aid stations and parking is limited.
Aid stations and rules
14 miler aid stations: miles 8 and 11.
36 miler aid stations: miles 8, 11, 15.3, 19.7, 24, 27 and 31. Drop bag service is available to the Dam Road aid station (miles 19.7 and 27). The event is cup-free; participants must carry their own reusable cup, bottle, or pack to receive fluids. All aid stations provide water, typical ultra fuel, maple products, snacks, and basic first aid supplies. Runners in the 36 mile race must reach the last aid station at approximately mile 31 by the race cutoff to continue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
