Moosalamoo Ultra - Goshen, Vermont
The Moosalamoo Ultra and Heavy Half are trail races hosted on the grounds of the Blueberry Hill Inn and Outdoor Center in Goshen, Vermont, near Middlebury. Courses run deep in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area and on trails within the Green Mountain National Forest, with mountain single track that reaches the top of Mount Moosalamoo and offers views of Lake Dunmore.
Distances offered:
- 14 miles with about 2,400 feet of elevation gain
- 36 miles with more than 5,000 feet of elevation gain
Aid stations: the 14 miler has aid at miles 8 and 11. The 36 miler has aid at miles 8, 11, 15.3, 19.7, 24, 27 and 31; drop bag service is available to the Dam Road aid stations (miles 19.7 and 27). Aid stations provide water, typical ultra fuel, maple packets, snacks and basic first aid. The event is cup free and all participants must carry a reusable cup, bottle, or similar vessel to access fluids.
Logistics and policies: some course sections cross private property and are open only on event day; preview only public trail sections. Dogs are allowed under control and with leash rules for early miles, and participants receive an event shirt, a finishers award, a post-race meal and access to primitive camping included with entry. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance. Refunds are available before the published deadline less a service fee; after that no refunds are issued.
