Champlain Bridge 5K and 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk

LaChute Road Runners Club stages a scenic cross-country event at Crown Point State Historic Site and Crown Point DEC Campsite, 21 Grandview Drive, Crown Point, New York 12928. The main course is a 5K that travels through trails, roads, and fields; the route starts at the campground lighthouse side and passes under the bridge along the trail. A 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk follows part of the same course and begins near the bridge and fort on the historic site.

Registration opens July 1 and closes September 1. The standard registration fee is $25.00. A private donor has waived the registration fee for students 18 and under; those students must still register by September 1 to receive a free event T-shirt. T-shirts are available only to participants who pre-register before September 1.

Awards apply to 5K participants only, with first through third place in each male and female age category and overall male and female awards. Age categories run from 9 and under through 70 plus. For safety, youth age 15 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver for the entire event.

Onsite amenities include bathrooms across from the Picnic Pavilion and a water station on the course. Packet pick-up and race day registration occur at the Picnic Pavilion. NYS Park staff will direct parking to the field beside the Picnic Pavilion. Online safety resources from the Prevention Team Safe Harbour NY Ambassadors for Essex County will be available at the Picnic Pavilion. The event is associated with the NYS Parks Wellness Challenge Get Offline, Get Outside, which offers a special edition sticker for completing 25 activities.
