Goshen Gallop

The Goshen Gallop is a summer trail running event held at the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center in Goshen, Vermont. The event offers two course distances:

  • 10 km
  • 5 km

The courses use cross-country ski trails and local gravel roads through the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area of the Green Mountain National Forest and include varied terrain. The route is generally dry but has a few muddy sections between 6 and 8 km; the course is well marked. Runners start together under a start banner.

This is a cup-free event; participants must provide their own hydration device and a cup for post-race drinks. A spigot is available at the 5 km point for refilling. Aid is provided by volunteers; injuries should be reported to the nearest volunteer. Unofficial results will be posted after the race and official results published subsequently.

Post-race provisions include a buffet-style dinner for those who purchased a meal ticket, a raffle with prizes sold before and after the race, and awards for top finishers and age-group winners in the 10 km. Facilities include two porta-potties outside the ski center, trash/recycling/compost stations (food scraps must be composted), and a pond behind the inn where swimming is allowed under supervision. Camping is available for a fee and includes wifi, showers, water, and daytime indoor space. Dogs are permitted if leashed and controlled. All proceeds support trail and bridge maintenance at the Blueberry Hill Outdoor Center, a registered non-profit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
