Event Overview

The Southern States 200 is an ultramarathon event that includes two distances: Southern States 200 and Southern States 100. The event takes place in locations spanning the states of Georgia and Alabama.

Race Details

The scheduled event dates are March 18–22, 2026. The registration fee for the 200-mile distance is $1100, and for the 100-mile distance it is $400. A tech race shirt is included with registration. An optional one-way shuttle service from the finish to the start is available for $50. For the 100-mile distance, an optional room at Bald Rock Lodge for the night before the race is available for $150.

Requirements and Policies

All runners are required to carry mandatory equipment at all times during the run. This includes items such as a jacket with a hood, an emergency bivy or thermal blanket, a headlamp with extra batteries, and a device loaded with the official GPX course track for navigation. Runners must demonstrate the ability to use this navigation device at check-in.

A detailed refund and transfer policy is in effect. No full refunds are given. Partial refunds or transfers to the following year's event are available based on a tiered schedule relative to the race date. The event reserves the right to change the date or cancel due to circumstances such as extreme weather or permitting issues; in such cases, entries are typically transferred to a future date or year. Chief Ladiga 100 in Jacksonville, AL on April 11, 2026 offers races on the country’s longest paved trail, from a 100 mile out and back to shorter distance point to point events, with regular aid stations and finish amenities.
