Southern States 200
The Southern States 200 is a point-to-point mountain trail endurance event that follows the Pinhoti Trail from near Dalton, Georgia to the summit of Mt Cheaha in Alabama. The full course measures 203.10 miles with 27,933 feet of elevation gain. The route is fully marked with prismatic reflective flags, ribbons, and signs. Runners are allowed 100 hours to complete the course.
Course support includes 15 staffed aid stations offering made-to-order "real food" day and night, plus one unstaffed water-only aid station. Five aid stations offer heated sleep stations with sleeping pads and bags in a tent separate from the aid area.

A finish location lodging option is the Historic Bald Rock Lodge at Cheaha State Park, where 12 individual rooms with private baths have been reserved for select nights. Organizers advise checking availability with race staff before reserving and paying for lodge rooms.
A training camp for the Southern States 200 and 100 is scheduled at Cheaha State Park and includes two course previews, meals, transportation to preview runs, and event swag for a registration fee. Volunteer benefits include a $150 credit per full day worked toward a future entry, with credits transferable and limits on how many volunteers may earn credit per shift.
