The Mount Cheaha 50K is scheduled for February 20, 2027, in Delta, Alabama. Organized by Pinhoti Trail Races, this is the 22nd annual running of the event. The race is a point to point trail run covering 50K and finishes at Cheaha State Park near the summit of Cheaha Mountain, which reaches 2,407 feet.
About 80% of the course follows single track on the Pinhoti Trail, Skyway Trail and Silent Trail through Talladega National Forest. The route passes scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, waterfalls, and hardwood and pine forests. There are six aid stations located at Chandler Springs (3.3 miles), Clairmont (8.5 miles), Adams Gap (14.8 miles), Hubbard Creek (18.8 miles), Silent Trail (25.8 miles), and Cheaha Lake (28.5 miles); the finish is listed at 31.6 miles. Some aid stations provide water only.
The published time limit for the race is 9 hours 30 minutes; a mileage chart and cut off times are available from the organizer. Packet pickup is available the day before at Coldwater Mountain Brewpub in Anniston and at the Porters Gap Trailhead on race morning. Bus tickets can be purchased for transport from the park overflow area. Parking at the start is limited and parking attendants will assist.
Entry is online only; there are no refunds, no race day registration, no entry transfers, and no deferrals. Crew passes for Cheaha State Park require advance payment and are exchanged for day passes at the park gate. Pets, strollers, bicycles, and unentered runners are not allowed on course; pets should be kept at least 50 feet from aid stations and start and finish areas.
