Mount Cheaha 50K

The Mount Cheaha 50K is a point to point trail ultramarathon in Delta, Alabama, finishing at Cheaha State Park near the summit of Cheaha Mountain (2,407 feet). The course follows sections of the Pinhoti Trail, Skyway Trail, and Silent Trail through Talladega National Forest, with approximately 80% on single track. Runners encounter overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, waterfalls, and stretches of hardwood and pine forest.

The event uses multiple aid stations along the route and lists a total distance of about 31.6 miles. There is a published time limit of 9 hours 30 minutes and cut-off information is provided by the organizer. Packet pickup is offered before race day at a downtown Anniston location and also on race morning at the Porters Gap Trailhead. Bus transportation from Cheaha State Park is available for an additional fee and parking at the start is limited; parking attendants will be present.

Race rules note that strollers, animals, bicycles, and unentered runners are not allowed on course. Crew passes for Cheaha State Park must be purchased in advance and carry per-person fees. Awards include top overall and age-category placings and all finishers receive a medal. Results are posted online after the event.
