Course Information

Lake Yahou was opened for recreational use in May 2022. This trail race is the first to start at the lake. For the most part, the trails are non-technical, single-track dirt. The trail is described as very runnable, with rocks and roots present.

The event takes place at 370 Lake Yahou Road, Anniston, Alabama. There are three distances: a 50K, a 10 Miler, and a 5.5 Miler.

  • 50K: Approximately 3000 feet of elevation gain. The format is three loops. The cutoff time is 10 hours.
  • 10 Miler: Approximately 1000 feet of elevation gain. The loop distance is 10.5 miles. The cutoff time is 4 hours.
  • 5.5 Miler: Approximately 551 feet of elevation gain. The cutoff time is 3 hours.

This is a cupless event. Participants must bring their own container for liquids.

Event Details

There will be a full aid station at the start/finish. Another station, approximately 3.8 miles in at the McClellan Trailhead, will offer water and snacks; it may be self-serve or a full aid station depending on volunteer availability.

Each finisher receives a hand-painted finisher rock. Awards are given to the top three female and top three male finishers for each distance. The finish line area will have music, food, and beverages.

Long sleeve shirts are given to registered runners who want one, provided they register before September 9. Packet pickup is on race day at the start line.

If the overall female or male winner sets a new course record for their distance, they receive a free entry for the following year. The organizer states there are no refunds or deferrals, but registration transfers to another runner may be possible by contacting the organizer.
