McClellan Madness - Anniston, AL

McClellan Madness is a timed trail running event held at the McClellan Bike Trails in Anniston, Alabama. The course uses a 4.1-mile single-track loop that is generally runnable with a few rocks and is not technical. Each loop has approximately 300 feet of elevation gain.

The event offers two time-based options:

  • 4-hour event
  • 8-hour event

There will be a self-serve full aid station at the start/finish area with a variety of snacks and vegan options on request. Organizers will serve water, Coke, ginger ale and Tailwind, and they will also grill grilled cheese and vegan grilled cheese. Participants may set up their own aid station at the start/finish, at their car, on the grass or at the outdoor amphitheater. This is a cupless event.

Per-participant items and awards include a soft t-shirt (shirt order cutoff February 3; late signups may not receive a shirt) and awards for the male and female runners who cover the greatest distance in each time option. Distance challenge awards are planned for completing four loops (about 25k) in the 4-hour option and eight loops (about 50k) in the 8-hour option.

Packet pickup is available on race day only. Registration funds are allocated immediately to event costs; there are no refunds or deferrals, though entry transfers to another runner are possible by contacting the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
