McClellan Madness

McClellan Madness is a timed trail running event held at the McClellan Bike Trails in Anniston, Alabama. The course uses a 4.1 mile single track loop that is runnable with a few rocks and is not technical. Elevation for one loop is approximately 300 feet. Distances and formats include:

  • 4 hour event with a four loop 25k distance option
  • 8 hour event with an eight loop 50k distance option

Aid and support is described as a self serve full aid station at the start/finish with snacks and vegan options. Organizers will provide served water, Coke, Ginger Ale and Tailwind. Participants may also set up a personal aid station at the start/finish, at a vehicle, in the grass, or at the outdoor amphitheater. This event is cupless.

Each runner receives a soft t shirt; the deadline to guarantee a shirt is February 3. Packet pickup occurs on race day only. Registration opens September 5, 2026. Trail races at Lake Yahou in Anniston, AL on October 10, 2026 feature 50K, 10 mile and 5.5 mile options on mostly non technical single track, a cupless policy, aid stations, finisher rocks and awards for top finishers.
