Mount Cheaha 50K

The Mount Cheaha 50K is a point to point trail ultramarathon on February 20, 2027 in Delta, Alabama, organized by Pinhoti Trail Races and finishing at Cheaha State Park on the summit of Cheaha Mountain (2,407 feet), the highest point in Alabama.

The route runs mostly on single track trails through the Talladega National Forest, using sections of the Pinhoti Trail, Skyway Trail and Silent Trail. The course passes scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, waterfalls, and hardwood and pine forests. Approximately 80% of the course is single track.

There are six aid stations along the route: Chandler Springs (3.3 miles, water only), Clairmont (8.5 miles), Adams Gap (14.8 miles), Hubbard Creek (18.8 miles), Silent Trail (25.8 miles), and Cheaha Lake (28.5 miles, water only). The event lists a finish at 31.6 miles. The race has a 9 hour 30 minute time limit. Results are posted on Ultrasignup. Awards include top three overall male and female, class awards by age groups, and a medal for all finishers.

Packet pickup is available Friday at Coldwater Mountain Brewpub and on race morning at Porters Gap Trailhead. Online entry is handled through Ultrasignup and registration closes on February 15, 2027. No refunds, no race day registration, no entry transfers, and no deferrals are allowed. Bus tickets and crew pass fees are available through registration; parking at the start is limited and portable restrooms are provided.
