This is a looped trail event held on forest roads in the Talladega National Forest, starting at the Frog Pond Overlook near the Pinhoti Trail. The course runs entirely on maintained dirt and gravel forest roads.

Distances offered:

Course and distances: the 10K is an out-and-back of about 3.1 miles with 596 feet of elevation gain and a 4 hour cutoff. The 25K is one loop with about 1,980 feet of elevation gain and a 6 hour cutoff. The 50K is two loops with about 3,950 feet of elevation gain and a 10 hour cutoff. The 100K is four loops with about 7,920 feet of elevation gain and an 18 hour cutoff.

Race format and support: the 100K is run at night and participants are expected to carry a headlamp and reflective gear. The looped course includes three fully stocked aid stations, one water only station, and a cupless event policy. Course direction alternates by year with even years counterclockwise and odd years clockwise.

Entries and amenities: registration is limited to 200 spots. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers; in the event of a forest fire or natural disaster registrations may be deferred to the next year. Each registrant receives a t shirt with a shirt order deadline of July 13. 100K finishers receive a BOCO Trucker hat included with registration; other distances may purchase a hat at packet pickup. A single preview run is scheduled before the event and the date will be announced. A percentage of registration proceeds supports the Talladega National Forest.
