Rockin Choccolocco 50K - 25K - 10K

The event takes place April 24, 2027 in Heflin, AL, centered at Cahulga Creek Park, 343 Mountain St. It is the 14th annual Rockin Choccolocco series organized by Pinhoti Trail Races and uses the Pinhoti Trail through the Talladega National Forest.

Distances:

  • 50K point to point on the Pinhoti Trail, mostly single-track.
  • 25K lollipop course starting and finishing at Cahulga Creek Park.
  • 10K out and back from Cahulga Creek Park.
  • Kids Run family friendly distance at Cahulga Creek Park.

The 50K route runs on single-track trail until the Heflin Spur for the final section and passes scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, and hardwood and pine forest. The 25K and 10K follow sections of the Heflin Spur and the Pinhoti Trail with turn points near Shoal Creek Trailhead and High Rock.

Time limits are published for each distance: 50K nine hours thirty minutes, 25K six hours, and 10K four hours. Aid stations are placed at multiple points on each course, including a water only station at FS 523 and aid at the finish. Packet pickup is at Cahulga Creek Park on the day before the race. Bus transportation to the 50K start is available for a fee. Parking and primitive camping are available at Cahulga Creek Park. Restrooms are provided at start and finish.
