Rockin Choccolocco 50K - 25K - 10K
The event is the 14th annual Rockin Choccolocco trail race series organized by Pinhoti Trail Races in Heflin, AL. Races run largely on the Pinhoti Trail and the Heflin Spur through sections of Talladega National Forest and finish at Cahulga Creek Park, 343 Mountain St, Heflin.
Distances offered:
- 50K point to point on the Pinhoti Trail
- 25K lollipop course starting and finishing at Cahulga Creek Park
- 10K out and back from Cahulga Creek Park
- Kids Fun Run
Time limits are specified for each race. The 50K is run primarily on single-track trail with scenic overlooks, creek crossings, lakes, and hardwood and pine forest; the 50K course connects to the Heflin Spur for the final two miles. Aid stations and water only points are provided at set mileages for each distance, and course maps are available for the 50K and 25K.
Logistics notes in the event information include bus transportation from Cahulga Creek Park to the 50K start available for a fee, parking directions at Cahulga Creek Park, restroom availability at starts and finishes, primitive camping with a small donation, and posted results after the race.
