Event Overview

The Rockin Choccolocco is the 14th annual trail running event offering distances of 50K, 25K, and 10K, as well as a Kids Fun Run. All races take place on the Pinhoti Trail within the Talladega National Forest.

Distances and Courses

The event features several trail courses:

  • 50K: A point-to-point route starting near Greenleaf Dam and finishing at Cahulga Creek Park in Heflin, Alabama. Approximately 95% of the course is on single-track trail.
  • 25K: A loop course (lollipop style) that starts and finishes at Cahulga Creek Park.
  • 10K: An out-and-back course starting and finishing at Cahulga Creek Park.

Time Limits and Logistics

Each distance has a maximum time limit: 9 hours 30 minutes for the 50K, 6 hours for the 25K, and 4 hours for the 10K. Bus transportation from the finish area to the 50K start line is available for a fee. Primitive camping is offered at the finish area for a donation.

Awards and Amenities

Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the first master and grand master finishers in each race. All finishers receive a medal.
