Sombrero Sizzler

The Sombrero Sizzler takes place on July 18, 2026 in Jacksonville, FL, at 5827 New World Road on the former Cecil Field military base. The event uses a 1.25 mile paved loop composed of three quarters asphalt and one quarter concrete walking path, with a short grassy section at the end. Pine trees line parts of the course and provide shade during the morning hours; some portions are exposed to direct sunlight later in the day. The course is flat and has minimal turns, described as five wide right turns.

The event offers timed options:

• 3 hour event
• 6 hour event
• 9 hour event
• 12 hour event

The 6 hour event includes a relay team option for up to ten teams, with four members per team of any gender. Relay teams must exchange the bib and timing chip between members.

There is one main aid station at the pavilion start/finish area offering standard ultra foods and Skratch Electrolyte. Food will be grilled throughout the day and includes breakfast items, burgers with vegan options, brats, Italian sausage, and bacon. Parking is allowed on the road leading into the pavilion area; parking inside the pavilion area is not permitted. Each participant receives a custom medal; additional giveaways are to be determined. Overall awards will include top three in each event and other special awards. Local hotels and restaurants are available within about 3 to 5 miles. Registration closes July 10.
