Smoketown Brewery 5k & 10k
This event offers road/trail races over two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course is an out-and-back on the C&O canal path with a light gravel dirt surface that is basically flat for the entire route. The start and finish are on the canal path near Smoketown Brewery; parking is at the Brunswick MARC train lot (100 S Maple Ave, Brunswick, MD) with a nearby meeting pin at latitude 39.311331, longitude -77.627563.
Water stations are limited on the route. The 10 km course has three stations at about miles 0.6, 3.1, and 5.6; the 5 km course has two stations at about miles 0.6 and 2.5. Gatorade is available at some water stations. Port-a-johns are located near the parking lot.
Participants receive a glass of beer, a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before February 24; extras are available later while supplies last. Registration prices change in phases and increase by $5 on race morning. A virtual run option is offered for those not attending in person.
Points from this event count toward year-long 5k, 10k, Back of the Pack, and Sippin Series standings. Live results are posted on Athlinks and via a QR code at the race; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the event. Walkers are welcome. Charity details are listed as TBD.
