Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run - Little Bennett

The Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run at Little Bennett Regional Park takes place on Saturday August 1, 2026 in Clarksburg, Maryland. The park covers 3,600 acres and contains over 20 miles of trails, streams, and camping areas. The venue is located off Interstate 270 about 30 miles west of Washington D.C.

Race courses follow twisty singletrack hiking trails with stream-side running and notable hills. The event lists two distance options:

  • 5K course: 3.7 miles, 330 feet elevation gain
  • 10K course: 6.2 miles, 550 feet elevation gain

The race staging is near the Prescott Horse Trailer Area by the Little Bennett Golf Course; parking is in nearby grass fields with signs directing traffic from Lewisdale Road. Registration benefits include professional race operations, free professional race photos, staffed aid stations, medical support, post-race food including breakfast burritos, awards, and event swag. Race medals are available as an add-on and a special medal is awarded to participants who complete all three races in the series.

Race rules specify that in-ear headphones are not permitted, outside assistance is allowed only near aid stations, race numbers must be visible on the front, pets pacers and baby strollers are not allowed on course, and racers must stay on designated trails and notify officials if they drop out. The event offers a charity option to support Interfaith Works during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
