Event Overview

The MD Heat Trail Race is scheduled for August 15, 2026, in Elkridge, Maryland. It features two trail running distances: 50K and 25K.

The event is held at the Patapsco Pickall Area on Johnnycake Road. Parking is available on-site but limited; participants are encouraged to carpool.

Course Description

The course consists of rolling single-track trails with two river crossings. It has over 2000 feet of vertical gain, including technical, rocky sections and smooth, runnable parts. Participants must complete out-and-back segments to Valley Overlook to collect wrist bands, which are required for finish verification.

Aid Stations

Aid stations are located at approximately 2, 5.25, 8, 11.5, and 16 miles. They provide Tailwind, water, and real food options, both sweet and savory. No energy gels are available at the aid stations.

Finish Area

At the finish line, there is a party with food and beer. Facilities include bathrooms and shelter under pavilions.

Additional Information
