Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run - Schaeffer Farms

The Blue Crab Bolt Trail Run at Schaeffer Farms is scheduled for Saturday July 25, 2026 at the Button Farm Living History Center in Germantown, MD. The event offers two distance options and uses trails that begin and end at the Button Farm site on Black Rock Road.

The course runs on maintained single track and open farm fields and includes stream crossings, log ramps, a few hills, and some rocky and rooty sections. The route is described as moderately technical. Reported elevation gain is about 230 feet for the 5K and about 450 feet for the 10K.

Included with registration are professional race operations, free race photos, volunteer support, staffed aid stations, medical support, post race food including breakfast burritos, music, awards and event swag. Race medals are available as an optional add on and a special medal is provided to runners who complete all three races in the series.

The event supports local charities including Interfaith Works and the Button Farm Living History Center. Race rules note that in ear headphones, pets, pacers and strollers are not permitted on course, race numbers must be worn on the front, participants must stay on designated trails and notify officials if they withdraw.
