Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run - King George, Virginia
The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is a 14 mile untimed point-to-point run held in King George, Virginia. The route starts at the King George Middle School Sheetz and finishes at the Dahlgren Sheetz, with the first 1.4 miles on road before joining the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail for about 12.6 flat, scenic miles through farmland and forest.
The course includes four themed aid stations located at mile 3.14, mile 6.2 (campsite), mile 10.2, and mile 12.4, offering items such as pie, s'mores, Peeps, soft pretzel nuggets, beef jerky, fruit snacks, electrolyte drink, water, and portable toilets. Shuttle buses transport participants from the finish area and event parking at the King George Gateway Shopping Center to the start; parking near the start is available at King George Middle School and parking at the Sheetz stores or O'Reilly Auto Parts is not permitted. After the finish, the lot is a short walk back to parked cars or accessible via a courtesy shuttle.
The event is 100 percent cupless; each participant receives a HydraPak SpeedCup. Proceeds benefit Sheetz For the Kidz and other local causes, with $34,308 contributed to date. Awards are offered to first male and female finishers overall and in Masters 50 plus, and finishers receive race gear including an insulated travel mug, a custom towel, a reusable cup, snacks, and a drawstring bag.
