Event Overview
The Sheetz-to-Sheetz Trail Run is a 14-mile point-to-point adventure held in King George, Virginia. This untimed event follows a route that begins at one Sheetz location and concludes at another, with proceeds benefiting local charities including Sheetz For the Kidz.
Course Details
The course starts with a 1.4-mile section on the road before transitioning onto the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail (DRHT). Participants run for 12.6 miles on this flat, scenic rails-to-trails path through forest and farmland.
The event features four themed aid stations along the route:
- Mile 3.14: Pie and water.
- Mile 6.2: S'mores, Peeps, Rice Krispies treats, water, and electrolyte drinks.
- Mile 10.2: Beef jerky, fruit snacks, and water.
- Mile 12.4: Homemade soft pretzel nuggets, water, and electrolyte drinks.
Logistics and Sustainability
As a point-to-point race, participants park at the King George Gateway Shopping Center near the finish line. Shuttle buses transport runners 15 minutes away to the start line at King George Middle School.
This is a 100% cupless event to reduce waste. Every runner receives a collapsible, reusable cup for use at the aid stations. Finisher swag includes an insulated travel mug, a custom sweat towel, a drawstring bag, and access to a finish-line buffet.
