Adventure Trail Run: 12 hour event at Prince William Forest Park
Athletic Equation is hosting the 18th annual 12 hour Adventure Trail Run on September 13, 2025, at Prince William Forest Park near Triangle, Virginia. The field is limited to 100 runners. The event also offers a two person relay option.
The course is a 6.5 mile looped figure eight on a different set of trails than the 24 hour event. It is 100 percent trail, with a mix of single track and fire road. Approximate elevation gain and loss is 650 feet per loop. Terrain includes undulating hills, ascents and descents, rocks, roots, and dirt; there may be mud if it rains. There are two aid stations. The primary aid station is at the start and finish and provides a plentiful array of food. The second aid station provides water only.
The event concludes with an awards ceremony and a post race meal for participants and their crews. In the first 17 runnings, participants accumulated over 30,000 miles on the park trails.
