• Dahlgren Heritage Rail Trail 50K - Price $90.

The races take place Saturday, August 8, 2026 in King George, VA at 4224 University Drive, King George, VA 22485.

Course and logistics

Both courses run on the Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail, a 16-mile rails-to-trails corridor. The trail is a converted railroad bed with mostly flat, smooth surfaces including dirt, gravel, grass, and pine needles. The event uses out-and-back courses that start on the eastern end of the trail and head west; one section heads about 6.5 miles before turning back. Trees along the trail provide near-continuous shade. Road crossings will have a crossing guard; runners should still look both ways. Aid stations provide water near miles 3.3, 6.5, 9.8 and 12.2, Gatorade at miles 3.3, 6.5 and 9.8, and food at the Panorama Aid Station primarily for 50K participants.

Awards, swag and policies

All finishers receive a custom finisher medal and a technical tank top or t-shirt; shirts are not guaranteed after July 21, 2026. Finish-line food and drinks are provided. The half marathon awards cash to the top three overall men and women ($100, $75, $50) and age-group awards. The 50K pays $200/$100/$50 to the top three and offers a $100 bonus for breaking specified course records. A 4-hour time limit applies to the half and an 8-hour limit to the 50K.
