Sehgahunda Trail Marathon
Mount Morris, United States • 16-17 May 2026
Sehgahunda Trail Marathon and Vale of Three Falls
This multi-day trail running event takes place in Letchworth State Park over the course of a single weekend. The first day focuses on the full marathon distance, while the second day features a series of shorter trail races. The marathon course begins at the Mount Morris Dam Visitor Center and follows the Finger Lakes Trail, offering views of Western New York before finishing at the Parade Grounds in Portageville.
The event offers several individual distances and team options:
- 26.3 Miles (Solo, 2-person relay, or 4-person relay)
- 72 km (The Sehgahunda 72 combined challenge)
- 9.3 Miles (Upper Falls 15K)
- 6.2 Miles (Middle Falls 10K)
- 3.1 Miles (Lower Falls 5K)
The 26.3 Miles solo and relay courses include eight stocked aid stations. Participants in the marathon distance must carry their own hydration as the event operates with cup-free stations. The Vale of Three Falls races (5K, 10K, and 15K) are held on the second day. These courses consist of out-and-back routes on a seasonal gravel road with hilly terrain. The 15K distance includes a time requirement where participants must reach the Big Bend Half Way Aid Station by a specific cutoff to continue the race.
The Sehgahunda 72 is a specialty challenge where participants complete all four race distances over two days, totaling 72 kilometers. All finishers across the various events receive medals, with solo marathon finishers receiving a hand-made arrowhead medal. Post-race food and drinks are provided for participants of all distances.
