Sehgahunda Trail Marathon & Relay
Sehgahunda Trail Marathon & Relay is a trail running event held at Letchworth State Park, with the course beginning at the Mount Morris Dam Visitor Center and finishing at the Parade Grounds in Portageville. The main event is a technical trail ultramarathon of just over the traditional marathon distance, run primarily on the Finger Lakes Trail.
The route features rocky and root-strewn terrain with many gullies and mostly hilly running. Elevation gain on the course is listed between 3,000 and 4,000 feet. The course uses yellow blazes on the main trail and blue blazes on spur trails; turns to and from aid station trails are marked with arrows and small flags. Aid stations are prepackaged food and water only, with seven to eight checkpoints on the marathon course. Both days of the race weekend use cup free aid stations. Marathon participants are required to carry hydration on course.
